The brain, much like the heart, is an organ that functions like a muscle. And what do muscles do? They grow and they atrophy when unused or nerves are damaged. We exercise to keep our muscles healthy. Did you know there are exercises to help improve brain function? Solving word puzzles and the Rubix cube are being considered a sport. You don't have to be hit in the head to experience brain trauma. Brain dead is not just a medical diagnosis. It's a state of being for some people who hardly think. That old saying 'use it or lose it" applies to that muscle in your skull, too.

Here are a list of brain exercises to keep your mind sharp.

*Reading

*Critical thinking

*Listening (and I don't mean to music)

*Cognitive training exercises

*Sex

*Aerobic activity

Intellect is genetic. The rate at which neurons fire in the brain is a gift from your parents. Big Pharma tells you that taking certain medications can help you improve mental focus. However these meds will do far more damage than good in the long run. Proper nourishment is the best medicine you can apply to increase brain activity. Adequate sleep is the best way to recharge your brain. Below are a list of foods and vitamins you should add to your daily supplementation:

*Gluthathione

*Gingko Biloba

*Omega-3 fats

*B-12

*Dark chocolate

*Blueberries

*Green Tea

*Xthanomax

*THC

Glucose, proteins, water and oxygen are what make the brain tick. (pun intended). Here are some things to consider for optimum brain health. Consumption of too much sugar slows down brain function. Alcohol, for example, impairs decision making, motor skills and memory. Anti-psychotic drugs affect brain development en utero. Vaccinations have been proven to act as neurotoxins in babies. The use of cell phones, earbuds/headphones, starring into computer screens and playing video games for long periods of time are prime examples of things that severely affect neurotransmission.

For many years neuroscientists believed when brain cells are damaged they die. Neuroscience now claims that thru a process called neurogenesis brain cells can be rejuvenated. But this only occurs in certain areas of the brain - olfactory, cerebral cortex and the hippocampus.

The body has many parts that comes in pairs. But you only have one brain, one heart

and one health. Protect them.
